Lifan have a global ambition to sell cars and are currently one of the leading exporters of cars despite their location in Western China. Their current line up is made up of the tiny 320, compact 520 (in sedan/hatch form) and the forthcoming 720 as well as an SUV and mini van. The 320 was what shot the company to fame for ‘ripping off the MINI’, but if you look closely you can see the only elements the two models share is round headlamps and a dual tone color scheme.
Not much has changed for the 320 on the outside, the inside has had a minor update for 2012 but the big changes would be the introduction of a CVT gearbox – an unusual addition at the price bracket. Pricing is expected to remain low in the 35,000-55,000rmb segment.
